What is Community Based Tourism?

Community-based tourism in Perú involves authentic and unique travel experiences offered by different local communities in the coast, mountains and jungle of the country. Their living culture and unique nature of the territories they protect conserve and share with their visitors, are the key and differentiating components that make up its tourism product.

We are the Community Based Tourism Strategy, led by MINCETUR. We promote a new way of traveling and getting to know Peru through the connection of travelers and hosts, living memorable experiences that add value to their journey. We believe this cultural exchange enriches the personal and collective perspective of both.
